Veronica Sawyer Smokes

TODAY I... changed my major. I'm now a sociology major with a creative writing minor (but my minor didn't change). I'm really happy with this change, and also happy that I decided to stay at Eastern next year. I love it here, and I don't want to leave. I think it would be different if I didn't have friends here now. But at any rate...
In other news, my new netbook should be getting to mah mom's house either today or tomorrow, which I'm really excited for. The netbook will be a supplement to my laptop, so that I don't have to lug it to classes, and I'll also have no need for so many notebooks. It's really exciting, and I can't wait to get it. Just one more week, and it's mine. It's a really cool thing too, and I'm really wanting to cover it in stickers like I did my laptop.
Tonight will be really fun, because I'm going to a Harry Potter book club meeting, and then afterwords I'm going to see Princess and The Frog. I'm really excited about it, it's gonna be really cool. And last night I went to the Sky Lounge here on campus, and listened to a live jazz band and met some really cool people. I made three new friends, and already I can tell that I'm really going to fit in here more the more I socialize and stuff. I'm really making friends as I didn't my first semester, and I'm really excited and happy.
Also, today I found a group of Socialists on campus, and it makes me really happy. But I also learned that schools all around Michigan are closing down due to budget cuts to help out big businesses with their bail outs. It's so incredibly stupid that words can't even begin to describe it. So I'm going to a meeting thing to voice my opinion next Thursday and it should be really cool. I'll get to meet more people who share my views, and get to get my voice heard. Super exciting, it is.
And that's all I can think of to say currently except, it's nice to be blogging again, and I'll try to update this every day.
